Eldon Williams, 77, of Sedalia, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center. He was born on Sept. 23, 1933, in Pettis County, a son of Walter and Lilly (Lindsay) Williams.
On Dec. 12, 1953, in rural Pettis county, he was united in marriage to Norma Rhoads, who survives of the home.
Eldon was a journeyman sheet metal worker with Local Union #2, working for Blue Young Heating and Air Conditioning for 40 years. He loved restoring old cars and riding horses. He was a member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church and served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean War.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Rick Williams and his wife Sue of Malta Bend and Blaine Williams and his wife Mary of Odessa; twin granddaughters, Hannah and Morgan Williams; a sister, Margaret Cusick of Sedalia; a sister in law, Dixie Williams of Sedalia; two brother in laws, Wayne Rhoads and his wife Viola of Sedalia; Dale Rhoads and his wife Judy of Smithton.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Walker E. Harrison Williams in infancy and Buck Williams.
A memorial gathering of friends and family will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 6 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery at a later date.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Show Me Christian Youth Home in care of the chapel.
